Payment gateway PayPal launched its new per-to-peer digital payment service PayPal.Me in India today. The platform is aimed at making business easier for freelancers & small merchants selling products & services across borders.
Merchants can set up their own user profiles that are associated with a personalized URL to receive international or cross-border commercial payments with their existing PayPal account. PayPal.Me aims to address the problem of time taken to make & receive a payment for a transaction. “Freelancers or Sellers no longer need to send a manual payment request or detailed bank account number, SWIFT code. They can simply send their PayPal.Me link while chatting with their client and get paid right away,” said Anupam Pahuja, MD & General Manager – India, PayPal about the new service that ensures fund transfer within seconds.
